I In You

Look into my eyes, and you will see yourself.

One day, a piece of me broke away and wandered free. It called itself I.

With bright eyes, I moved through the world, brimming with wonder—a love so fundamental, so pure, that I had long since forgotten it.

Then, I saw I, small and still, mesmerized by a simple stone. Time, which always pressed upon me, did not touch I. For I, there was no time.

I almost urged I to hurry off to a greater purpose, but paused. In the golden light, I sat—content and whole, lost in the moment. And in that moment, I remembered.

Whereas I lived constantly in the future, I was untethered, free of worries and purposes imposed by ghosts. I lived fully in the timeless present, just as I was meant to be.

I knelt, as I happily placed the stone in my hand. I felt the stone radiate its warmth from the sun to my skin, as if for the very first time.
